Always state your cancellation policy — most therapists use 24 hours — directly on the invoice so late cancellations and no-shows are billable at half the session rate without argument. Sales tax on massage varies wildly: some states treat it as a personal service and exempt it, others tax it like a salon service, and medical or chiropractic referrals are often exempt even when wellness massage is not. Check your state's rules before adding a tax line. Keep simple SOAP notes tied to each invoice number so a client can never claim a session never happened.
